Eerie interior design season is upon us – it’s Hallowe’en soon! We don’t make a huge deal out of Halloween over here in the UK, but it sure does make a great design theme – and you know we love a theme for a Wylde blog! This week we’re looking at some spooky schemes that you can sink your fangs into!

We’ve decided to find some haunting hacks that are on the chic side of spooky – rather than using lots non-recyclable plastics and tacky lights! Firstly, a real inexpensive way to vamp up any interior space is by introducing dark coloured candles and lanterns into the space. Black candles are super stylish and won’t break the bank – just make sure you’re keeping an eye on them at all times!

Obviously, get those pumpkin carving skills at the ready – is it really Halloween without one? Just remember, you can create whatever you like out of your pumpkin. The more simple the design the more effective – and easier to carve. Remember you can save the seeds and roast them – either for you to eat or to feed the birds! Any left over pumpkin can go in compost or create an all-purpose veggie stock!

Pick a colour scheme for your spooky interior and stick to it. For oranges use pumpkins, candle lights and add autumnal orange leaves to fairy lights for a gorgeous on-season look. Pair deep reds or purples with black for a vampire-esque feel – we’re talking red wine, witchy red apples, velvet throws and even try putting some dried chilly peppers out as decor – the shrivelled patterns create a really on theme eerie aesthetic!

If you’re feeling daring, why not go for some off-colour halloween decor this year? Pumpkins and gourds come in all kinds of different colours, shapes and sizes including beautiful greys, eerie whites and pale greens. We love the idea of a chic-minty halloween!

Whatever you decide remember it doesn’t have to break the bank and have a wonderful time!
