We love to celebrate worthy acknowledgements and this week one of our clients was recognised in the  The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For. The Society of Endocrinology was listed in the Top 100 Best Not-for-Profit Organisations to Work For which recognises public-sector bodies, charities and housing associations of all sizes.

We’re looking at the 17th annual survey done by The Sunday Times, a significant event in the business world as the spotlight falls on the success of these organisations. Over 250,000 employees have voiced their opinions on their workplaces and their employers.

The Society for Endocrinology in Bristol had outgrown its building and although they had expanded into some additional space next door, they were still bursting at the seams. Instead of selling their premises in a difficult market and going through a costly relocation, the Society challenged us to create a solution that allowed them to bring everyone together in their existing building and give sufficient flexibility for the future.

We developed the brief through staff workshops and the involvement of all departments. We devised the refurbishment in occupation schedule in collaboration with Alder King’s Project Management team.

We created a new open-plan environment with extra meeting rooms, tea-points and a cafe space providing places for the whole company to interact and collaborate. New branding and furniture, lighting, ceilings and refurbished WCs all added to the successful final result, giving the Society a new home in their existing building and enabling them to dispose of their additional sub-let office space.

CEO Leon Heward-Mills said; “As an organisation, the Society has gone through a significant rebranding process and enhancement of the way in which we operate. Central to this change has been the need to create a working environment that not only comfortably accommodates our current and anticipated staffing requirements, but one which – from an aesthetic perspective – is an enjoyable, comfortable, practical and inspiring workplace. We believe this has been achieved.”

We believe the working environment magnifies productivity and it always makes us smile to see how our work has transformed an organisation, producing successful results!
